Diablo 3 challenge rift leaderboards8/25/2023 ![]() To be honest, the fact that there's no incentive to get higher ranks, especially on EU where we don't even get the weekly blog post of featuring the top ranks, is killing this. I get your point, and I've made previous topics with similar goals of maybe rethinking challenge rifts, but many people seem to like those handicapped builds. If everyone chooses their own challenge rift, you have as many leaderboards as there are players, and it becomes meaningless as a way to have realm-wide competition. But isn't that point? People would not only be USING challenge rifts, but they would be excited by it. I get that this ultimately lets us "cheat" at the game by playing a "god-tier" character whenever we want, and some players might spend a whole season running challenge rifts on other people's times without even making a character themselves to play. Let us challenge ourselves by selecting the rift runs we want to attempt, and keep track of the communities times to build a real competitive environment. Please don't lock us into a build chosen by seemingly out-of-touch developers on a weekly basis. Someone may not have the time to able to get the items they need to get hit that rift level, but mechanically they might be able to crush the time given the resources. Can people beat the original person's time? I would love to go and beat my friend's top rift run with their build just to rub it in their face and "challenge" them to do it better.Īs a community, it would be cool to be able to view the leaderboard, and then view a challenge sub-board composed of the top X attempts on that rift by the playerbase. I would love to try out one of Alkazier's 100+ necro runs. I would love to try out the #1 rift run from the leader boards to see if I could even stay alive long enough to complete it, all the while knowing that the person actually completed it. Let us pick any top 10 run (or whatever, 25 let's say) from any class on the leaderboard, or one of our friend's top rift runs with a class - and we can try to beat their time with their build. ![]() Running a level 50 rift with an akward build is not fun, and it's not a challenge.Īre challenge rifts supposed to provide a challenge or are they simply meant to introduce variety? I'm mostly a solo player and have run up to 85ish during a season. I've seen multiple reddit posts from people excited to have hit their goal. ![]() This is just speculation, but I'd say aside from the top % of players, on average people set a goal of 70+ GR during a season. I admire the attempt to bring variety of gameplay to our rift-only game world, but IMHO, challenge rifts completely miss the mark. Enticing us with bounties one per week doesn't solve anything, and while that's nice, the name "challenge rifts" certainly isn't fitting. Playing low-level rifts with awkward builds is not fun for anyone. Last updated at 14:00:17 UTC Weekly Help Desk RAGE Loot Thread Trade Thread
